€900 Million and the Cost of Assumptions
A €900M EU real estate deal under investigation shows why institutional reputation cannot replace structured due diligence.

Molfar Intelligence gathered investors, defence tech leaders, and policymakers in London to discuss Ukraine’s rapidly evolving defence innovation ecosystem.
On 19 November, Molfar Intelligence, together with our partners, gathered investors, entrepreneurs, government representatives, and defence tech leaders at the historic Travellers Club in London for our event «10 Years of Ukrainian Defence Tech.»
A venue with centuries of history turned out to be the perfect place to discuss the future of defence innovation — even the portraits on the walls seemed to be listening in.
We were genuinely impressed when our Commercial Director, James Westlake, opened the evening with a greeting delivered in Ukrainian — a gesture that immediately set a warm and sincere tone for the event:
«Good evening. We are pleased to welcome our friends from Ukraine. We all sincerely wish we could do more for Ukraine, and we deeply respect your strength and determination. I wish you a pleasant and, I hope, useful evening» (The greeting was given in Ukrainian).
Also, James provided a detailed overview of the defence context in Ukraine, focusing on the country’s impressive growth in the defence technology sector. Stanislav Gryshyn of General Cherry, Michael Lukashenko of AEQUO Law Firm, and Ievgeniia Bespalova of Molfar Intelligence discussed topical issues, including the accelerated defence innovation cycle in Ukraine and frontline-driven procurement models that bypass traditional bureaucratic processes in favour of direct collaboration between combat units, private manufacturers, and investors. The speakers provided detailed examples of how battlefield-proven technologies are being rapidly adapted for broader applications, outlining the general trajectory for the expansion of Ukraine’s defence industry.
From insightful conversations to new ideas and connections between businesses across sectors, this evening reminded us of the powerful effect of bringing minds together.
More updates coming soon. Stay connected and follow our updates.
Everything will be Ukraine.

Behind every case is a client who needed clarity in uncertainty. Browse our work to see how we uncover what others miss — and what that means in practice for businesses and decision-makers.
Revealed how a high-stakes Defence Tech investment was halted after OSINT-driven due diligence uncovered a co-founder’s links to Russian-origin money laundering and a seized 2.6 billion UAH gambling enterprise, protecting a global firm from severe reputational and regulatory fallout.
Investment
Conducted a full pre-employment background investigation for a high-security aerospace role, covering court registry checks, financial record verification, ideological risk assessment, and social media OSINT analysis across relevant jurisdictions.
Space
Revealed how Russian drone manufacturers circumvent international sanctions by exploiting a critical design flaw (sanctions applied to company names rather than underlying legal entity identifiers) enabling Supercam to increase production tenfold despite being designated.
Finance
Conducted a comprehensive cybersecurity audit of a long-standing European IT infrastructure, identified critical internal data leaks involving financial plans and performance reviews, and implemented high-level security protocols to mitigate regulatory and operational risks.
