Molfar Intelligence has joined the Security in Complex Environments Group (SCEG), the UK industry body representing companies that provide security and risk services in complex and high-risk environments.

The membership comes as Molfar Intelligence expands its work with clients in the UK and across Europe. SCEG members are expected to meet the group’s requirements around regulation, transparency, and professional conduct, giving clients an additional external signal when assessing providers for sensitive or high-risk work.

For Molfar Intelligence, this is particularly relevant because much of our work involves environments where information is incomplete, risk is difficult to assess, and the cost of weak verification can be high.

Why SCEG Membership Matters

Companies operating in complex environments need more than technical capability. They also need confidence that the firms they work with follow clear professional standards and can operate responsibly when the context is sensitive.

Molfar Intelligence works across open-source intelligence, due diligence, and risk assessment for government and private-sector clients. The company built much of its operational experience during the full-scale war in Ukraine, where analysts have had to work with fragmented information, rapidly changing conditions, and high-stakes risk.

SCEG membership adds an independent layer of recognition to that experience.

“SCEG membership matters to buyers because it signals that a firm works to a verified standard, not just its own. For a Ukrainian firm entering the UK market, that independent confirmation is exactly what serious clients look for — and we're glad to hold ourselves to it,” said James Westlake, UK Commercial Director at Molfar Intelligence.

Bringing Regional Experience Into the SCEG Community

Molfar Intelligence plans to contribute regional knowledge from Ukraine and the surrounding region, as well as practical experience in open-source intelligence, to the wider SCEG membership.

That exchange also works in the other direction. Being part of a UK professional community focused on complex and high-risk environments gives Molfar closer access to the standards, expectations, and operational questions that matter to organisations buying security, intelligence, and risk services in the UK and Europe.

For clients, that matters because intelligence work rarely happens in isolation. It often sits alongside security, compliance, legal, operational, and reputational concerns — especially when a company is entering a new market, assessing a counterparty, or operating in a sensitive environment.

Joining SCEG strengthens Molfar Intelligence’s connection to that professional ecosystem while reinforcing the standards expected from firms working in complex environments.
