Clerical Figures of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Moscow Patriarchate
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP) historically has close ties with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). After Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, clergy of the UOC MP declared their "independence" from Moscow.
They not only actively promote Kremlin narratives but also hold Russian passports. Many of them own property in Russia.
This register contains information about high-ranking members of the UOC MP, whose actions and connections indicate support for the interests of Russia. Included are data on their education in Russia, their real estate in Russia, as well as their Russian citizenship passports. This register exposes connections that may influence internal policy and social life in Ukraine, especially during the war unleashed by Russia.
In the context of the full-scale Russian invasion, the question of whether to allow the UOC MP to continue its activities in Ukraine is becoming increasingly relevant. Bill 8371, which has already been supported in the first reading, may ban the activities of religious organizations governed from the aggressor state.
