Launching the Molfar Intelligence Institute

April 24, 2025

Since 2022, the OSINT agency Molfar has trained over 7,000 students, delivered hundreds of lectures and workshops, and launched numerous educational programs and in-person intensives. Over the years, we’ve evolved from basic deanonymizations to global-impact projects — from locating children abducted by Russia to advocating for sanctions against Russian individuals and their partners. As interest in open-source intelligence grows, so does the need to scale high-impact initiatives. That’s why the Molfar team has decided to spin off its education and PR departments into a separate, socially-driven initiative — the Molfar Intelligence Institute, focused on investigations, analytics, strategic communications, and education.

Why has the OSINT agency Molfar evolved into the Molfar Intelligence Institute and Molfar Intelligence Firm?

The OSINT agency Molfar, as it has been known since 2022, is now expanding into two distinct entities — the Molfar Intelligence Institute and the Molfar Intelligence Firm.

The Molfar Intelligence Institute is an analytical think tank specializing in intelligence gathering, OSINT analysis, education, cybersecurity, and strategic communications. Our mission is to empower and connect emerging talents in the service of both the public and private sectors, to promote OSINT culture across Ukraine, and to enhance the country’s international influence. Daria Verbytska, former Head of PR at Molfar, will lead the Institute.

"We aim to make Ukraine the sixth player, expanding the Five Eyes alliance. We strive to strengthen national intelligence and shape Ukraine's image as an analytics, OSINT, and tech solutions leader. Our investigations, published across the globe, have laid the foundation for a new perception of Ukraine — as a country capable of countering the aggressor's lies through OSINT expertise. We don't intend to stop here. On the contrary, we're expanding defense and corporate intelligence to help businesses make informed decisions.

We plan to launch a certification center, a closed intelligence club, and a series of large niche events.

The community formed around our work brings me the most joy — engaged people curious about intelligence, asking questions, debating, and offering support. It grew organically — perhaps the most valuable part," says Daria Verbytska.

Meanwhile, the Molfar Intelligence Firm (MIF) will operate independently as an intelligence agency providing consulting, investigative, and analytical services with a strong focus on business-oriented objectives. In the near future, MIF will prioritize its efforts in the UK market. We have intentionally separated our business operations from the social-impact projects formerly run under Molfar, allowing both directions to scale more effectively.

The Institute will continue to carry out research, investigations, and analytical work aimed at countering the Russian Federation and other entities that pose a threat to Ukraine. A key focus will also be placed on internal analytics, including research in digital and information security, analysis of domestic political processes, and risk assessments concerning the resilience of Ukrainian institutions, media, and the digital environment.

We are currently updating our websites and visual identity, and significantly enhancing our educational programs. However, our values, goals, and investigative tools remain unchanged. Expect more impactful investigations, in-depth studies, and expanded opportunities for our community.

Stay tuned — 2025 will bring many exciting updates and new initiatives from the Molfar Intelligence Institute.
